How big is your God? Is he small enough for you to dictate to him when you need something? Is he small enough to put away when it’s inconvenient to have his voice in your ear? Is he too small to trust? Is he just the right size, the size you can depend on Sunday and ignore the rest of the week? Is he big enough to save but too small to create? Is he so small you can argue and win? Is he smaller than your vision of him? Is he a little bigger than you, but not too far out of your reach? Is he clearly smaller than your enemies and fears? Is your god small enough or do we need to reduce him some more?
People love to say that their God is big right after He has leveled a problem for them. Those same people doubt if He even exists by the time the next problem rolls around. When we worry are we saying God is too small? Most would say ‘definitely not’, but we see Him too small to cast our care on (1 Peter 5.7) How big, or small, is your God? Maybe I should emphasize the “your” in that statement. Is He a willing participant in your ownership of Him? He is mine! Sounds good, but is He? I am His, but do I act like it? Can we poses something so immense that it’s impossible to comprehend with our finite minds? Can we trust His possession of us, when His immenseness swallows our comprehension? I understand if you’re reading this and asking why such a big concept… He is. He is God. He is immense and omni-everything.
“Let us fling wide the doors and windows of our minds and make some attempt to appreciate the “size” of God. He must not be limited to religious matters or even to the “religious” interpretation of life. He must not be confined to one particular section of time nor must we imagine him as the local god of this planet or even only of the universe that astronomical survey has so far discovered. It is not, of course, physical size that we are trying to establish in our minds… It is rather to see the immensely broad sweep of the Creator’s activity, the astonishing complexity of His mental processes which science laboriously uncovers, the vast sea of what we can only call “God” in a small corner of which man lives and moves and has his being.” (J.B. Philips, “Your God Is Too Small”)
Is your God too small? Is He big? How big? The answer will show in your daily living. The answer will show in your daily telling of Him. The answer is already ever-present for all to see.

A great message brother! I pray every Christian will read this comment and really understand where they have put OUR LORD GOD in their lives. I know personally that HE holds the highest position in my heart and life and even when I am weak in myself, HE is my EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME. May God bless you as you continue to serve our LORD GOD!
